Itinerary

Day 1 :
Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave

Elevation: 1,640m to 2,940m
Begin at Umbwe Gate, trek through the rainforest.
Camp at Umbwe Cave.

Day 2 :
Umbwe Cave to Barranco Camp

Elevation: 2,940m to 3,950m
Ascend through the moorland, conquer Barranco Wall.
Camp in the Barranco Valley.

Day 3 :
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Elevation: 3,950m to 4,035m
Traverse the alpine desert, reach Karanga Camp.

Day 4 :
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Elevation: 4,035m to 4,673m
Ascend to Barafu Camp, prepare for summit.

Day 5 :
Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Elevation: 4,673m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) to 3,100m
Summit Uhuru Peak, descend to Mweka Camp.

Day 6 :
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m
Descend through rainforests to Mweka Gate.
